New Boulders...

With my trip to the US comin´up, I have changed my focus again and sort of put away with my harness, rope and draws for the moment. It´s important to do that at times to keep motivated and besides, there are no routes I´m psyched on trying right now, at least not in the vicinity of my home. With no car and people not too motivated to drive places, bouldering has always been my resort to reboost my enthusiasm. Since I´ve put up 90% of all Hochgern problems there is little to repeat, so I´ve been busy exploring and brushing things to get some good FAs done before jumping the plane next Tuesday.
I´ve been really amazed by the potential our little local bouldering recluse has lately. Me and Rambo have been roaming the Big Rocks for a couple of days now, feeding on each other´s enthusiasm and energy, something that I highly appreciate! With Rambo there´s no competition since he´s just stronger but on some things I can thug my way through and still do things before him, so that keeps it balanced and fun! Overall we have established about 20 new problems so far from V0-V6/7, have decided to really sandbag things just because we think it´s fun and there´s more to come! Yesterday was a special day since we started to finally clean the most obvious boulder right next to the forest road. I had never bothered to clean it since I gad deemed it too featured but then...turns out it held 12 rad problems from V0-V6!
Here´s some pics!

Bouldering...

Since my upcoming US trip is mostly going to be a bouldering trip, I´ve been slowly shifting to bouldering again...Yesterday was my first day of climbing after a cold related break and Felbertal was the place to be! I just love this place...
Something I also really love is highballing...and with Bishop coming up, it was time for some mental prep climbing...
I don´t have a lot of photos but I have two Daniel took of me on an amazing V1/RX arete!

A due rest...

There´s a time of the year I usually start feeling like a sleepy bear, that is, I feel an urge to rest, sleep a lot and rest a little more...usually that time comes around the beginning of October and to continue the bear analogy, it´s in 99% of all cases triggered by the first snowfall of the season...September is a busy moment for climbers all over the world and pushing yourself constantly kinda burns you out...I was feeling all burnt last Tuesday out after almost linking my crimpy anti style project Cosmic Casino (5.12c) 5 times only falling at the last move, then continued to push by working, studying for my psychology exams and more working on Thursday...

Thursday afternoon was supposed to be a final window of opportunity before the season´s first snow system would move in and end our lovely Indian summer, so I dragged myself up to the project and fortunately did it after putting in the draws...which allowed me to focus on my desired FA project which got done about 20 minutes later...

This evening I was tired...so I have decided to roll with the punch and, thanks system, that´s not too hard. I´ll do my exams on Monday respectively Tuesday, finally finish being a student and then it´s gonna be all on again for the US!
And how could you be not psyched on this...
